Recap: Celtics beat Knicks 99-85

If it’s even possible, the Celtics got their revenge on the New York Knicks who gave them their only loss on the preseason docket.

Jared Sullinger had his strongest game of the preseason in the C’s 99-85 win posting 16 points, 8 rebounds, 6 assists and three blocks.

The starting lineup for tonight (Smart, Bradley, Crowder, Lee and Zeller) is what appears to be what we’ll see when the games actually count.

Marcus Smart facilitated the offense well from the point with a game high 9 assists.

Terry Rozier continues to impress scoring 8 points off the bench with 6 of those coming off two three-pointers.

Avery Bradley hurt his right shin after diving for a loose ball early in the third quarter and was wrapped up on the sidelines. The injury doesn’t appear too serious, but it is something to monitor as the regular season approaches and I would be shocked if he plays tomorrow in Manchester.

Other things to note:

Perry Jones, James Young, Corey Walden and Jordan Mickey all did not play in the fist half.

Isaiah Thomas and Kelly Olynyk were out for tonights game.

R.J. Hunter saw minutes early in the game which seems to show that he’s carved out a role in the rotation.

Jae Crowder did a nice job defending Carmelo Anthony and had himself a nice night offensively with 13 points, 7 rebounds and 3 assists.

The Celtics are in Manchester tomorrow night to put a bow on the preseason season and will face who they’ll see in night one of the regular season in the Philadelphia 76ers .
